How does a Multi-Day Course work?

A Multi-Day Course meets multiple times over one or more weeks. Learners join the teacher in live video chat sessions at scheduled times. Outside of these sessions, they can take part in a classroom discussion group and message the teacher directly. Longer courses create more opportunities: real-time activities, engaging projects, and interaction with diverse classmates from other states and countries.

Description

Class Experience

Some children need the 1-on-1 attention to help them understand a concept and I am here to help. The first class we have is typically an assessment class to see exactly where your child is at with their understanding. From there I am able to create specific lessons for your child. I use a variety of resources that are all interactive to keep your child engaged. For reading I do use the science of reading program and primarily teach guided phonics as I have seen this approach work with children. You will always know what is being taught in the class as I will send you an overview of what is being taught and how it went. Additional worksheets and help is also sent home to assist you during the week in between sessions. Some popular concepts are phonological skills (rhyming, syllables, segmenting sounds), beginning reading & writing and advanced grammar skills. TYPICAL SCHEDULE: Warm-up Phonics Skill Writing Skill (beginner or grammar) Review of home activities
