This is the perfect class for students who are brand new to coding. The objective of this course is to create an educational and engaging experience for students in the 6th-8th grade(s) to learn how to build a website using HTML.
HTML is an important building block skill for future programmers, especially those interested in becoming front-end developers. This class is designed to be an introductory level course for middle school students who are interested in learning the basics of HTML and building websites.
This class requires zero previous knowledge of computer languages or coding skills. Students in this class will have individualized attention from their instructor, so class size is kept small.
Week 1: Website best practices and choose your Website topic
Week 2: Terminology, Tools, and File Structure
Week 3: Text and Backgrounds
Week 4: Images and Tables
Week 5: Buttons
Week 6: Website Presentations
Students will present their websites to the class on the last day, which has the added benefit of public speaking experience.
