How does a Multi-Day Course work?

A Multi-Day Course meets multiple times over one or more weeks. Learners join the teacher in live video chat sessions at scheduled times. Outside of these sessions, they can take part in a classroom discussion group and message the teacher directly. Longer courses create more opportunities: real-time activities, engaging projects, and interaction with diverse classmates from other states and countries.

Class Experience

Kids Yoga & Mindfulness class will include yoga flow like season-themed flow, animal flow, mirroring, guided sensory exploration, etc., which are designed to make kids learn different yoga poses and enjoy the class at the same time. The classes are designed keeping in mind different requirements of kids at different developmental stages of kids.

Yoga class will include yoga flow like season-themed flow, animal flow, mirroring, guided sensory exploration, etc., which are designed make kids learn different yoga poses and enjoy the class at the same time.

Kids yoga & mindfulness class will include:

  • Asana practice (Hatha-vinyasa flow like animal inspired yoga flow, season themed glow, Surya namaskar etc.)
  • Breathing exercises (Simplified pranayama techniques with appropriate breath retention)
  • OM chanting
  • Mindfulness practice

The class focuses on promoting overall physical, cognitive, social & emotional development. Special attention is given to attaining optimum growth (as per age), performing & remembering different yoga posture, focusing on overall gross & fine motor skill development, increasing lung capacity through breathing exercises & attaining some levels of body awareness through necessary sensory stimulation.

promote Holistic Development of child through Yoga & Mindfulness practice.

Learning goal is not only to perform yoga asana to attain only strength & flexibility but the focus is on different aspects of development as well:

Physical development & growth: Special attention to bone and muscle strengthening, Mind- body connection, body balance, posture, enhancing lung capacity& relaxation for better sleep.

Cognitive development: Through sensory exploration, visualization & imagination (through mindfulness techniques), remembering & recalling (different yoga postures), learning through imitation, responding to verbal & non-verbal cues&thinking skills.

Emotional development: Cultivating safe space for kids to accept one’s limitations & failures, release of pent-up emotions & feelings through physical activities, accepting emotional reactions with fear of judgement and boost in confidence & self-esteem through praises & positive regards.

Social development: Observing fellow students, listening & communicating with teacher, waiting for their turn, adopting socially accepted behavior.

I have been teaching Yoga for last 3 years, both offline & online mode, to different age groups. I hold certification & diploma in Yoga and have received training in Traditional Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga as well. Currently, pursuing international certification in Pre & post-natal yoga.

Progress will be assessed in the class by the teacher in terms of kid performing & recalling the asana, following the cues etc. Progress is not based on whether the kid is performing yoga with perfection or not but overall performance.
